1. During military separations (whether short or long) how do you keep yourself positive and motivated? submitted by Married/Single Parent I just remember that he's gonna make it back home. That I have to be strong for Caylee. Last deployment, I didn't really have any friends aside from my best friend Kristie [who at the time was not apart of the military family so she really didn't fully understand] who I could vent to or cry to. Kristie was the one who dropped everything on the drop of a dime the day I found out Rob was hurt. I was try not to count the days, it just makes it harder.
Definitely Crossfade/Seether in 2005 but I'm sure that in may that will change since I am going to the Carolina Rebellion & almost all of my faves will be there [Avenged Sevenfold, Seether, Bullet for my Valentine, STONE SOUR [AHHHHHHH =]], Hinder, Godsmack, etc]! I am so stoked. I'll be there with my hubby, my best friend and her hubby for the WHOLE WEEKEND!!!
I'm from a small town in Southern Louisiana. My highschool, the kids game from THREE different towns and it still only had 500 people. I miss Ray's Boudin, & the Fast Food snow ball stand. I miss knowing everyone and I miss the country, where our nearest neighbors were a mile down the road. I miss it being normal to go in Walmart with no shoes [yea we're a bit cajun bahaha] I miss a lot about it but I don't miss how the drugs took over nearly everyone there =[
4. If you could run in any race, which charity would you choose to support? submitted by Wookie & Co. For Autism hands down... My little cousin- who is like my little brother- was diagnosed very early on with Autism. My aunt has worked so hard to get him where he is today and at almost 16 he is EXTREMELY HIGH FUNCTIONING. He has been almost like a miracle in front of my eyes and I just feel like people don't see autistic children the way they should be seen. They are so amazing and yet there is still not enough research or sources to help these children be their best.
Boiled Crawfish, Crawfish Fettucine & Pralines =] lol
And now on to the photo challenge
Day 4 - Post a picture of the family he had to leave behind to protect his country
This is actually the day he left for Iraq. Caylee was 5 months and 2 days old. Rob will tell you that it only hurt to leave us, that he doesn't really see himself as having any other family. We were the only ones who seemed to care that he was gone. He only got letters from me & his grandmother and one from his aunt and cousin- out of all of his "family" we are the only ones who sent him letters and carepackages to keep him going. It was really hard on him to have to leave us and it was even harder that his family didn't seem to care that he could have died. I guess I am a bit bitter that while other soldiers were getting packages from parents and siblings and aunts and uncles and cousins, I was having to supply EVERYTHING and try to send him MULTIPLE letters and things a month so he didn't feel unloved. I felt like while we are his main family now, it wouldn't have hurt for him to feel appreciated by others. So this is it- this is what he left behind. This is what he saw when he nearly died and this is who he will say is the only reason he lived for <3
